DRE Community Engagement Project Reports

Community engagement sites have been set up across the country to work with BME communities and services to raise awareness of mental health issues, reduce fear and provide better support for patients and their carers. The 2006, 2007and  2008 projects helped improve understanding of BME communities' needs from services.

The projects are part of Delivering Race Equality, the Government action plan (2005) for reducing inequalities and discrimination. They aim to improve the access, experience and outcomes of black and minority ethnic communities in mental health services by building stronger links between local mental health services and BME communities.
