Kieron has a significant experience in health and social care commissioning including as a Primary Care Trust Chief Executive and Director of Adult Social Services, as well as significant experience as Director in a Mental Health Trust. Miranda Stead - Programme Co-ordinator Miranda has worked extensively in the field of mental health for over 15 years and is currently a Director for Mednet Consult Ltd, which is a healthcare consultancy. Prior to this, she worked within the pharmaceutical industry sector and her last role was international/national medical relations manager. Miranda works on several projects within the Mental Health Commissioning Programme, including working with the Industry Mental Health Services Colloborative (IMHSeC) group, on a project linked to the National Mental Health PbR programme. Steve Appleton- Senior Project Manager Steve has experience of working in both local authorities and the NHS and has held a range of operational and strategic roles over the last twenty years. He has managed community mental health services and worked at senior level in an SHA, where he led strategic development, policy implementation and performance management in mental health, learning disability, substance misuse and offender health. He now works at the intersection of health, housing and social care, with a range of public and third sector bodies, through Contact Consulting. Steve is working on a number of elements within the mental health commissioning programme, including QIPP, housing and mental health, CAMHs transitions and the development of frameworks to support effective mental health commissioning. Contact Steve or call: 07747 863973 Diane Woods - Senior Project Manager Diane has worked in mental health since 1984 as an RMN, a CPN and Operational Service Manager before going into Strategic Project Management across health and social care reconfiguring services. Diane now leads the commissioning at NHS Surrey for Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Substance Misuse and CAMHS. Her commissioning work has involved leading innovations in mental health promotion delivery and employment and vocational services in the voluntary sector, supporting two services to become Social Firms, the first known in the country to come from NHS provision. |
Maurice has extensive Board level experience in mental health in both the NHS & Local Government. His previous roles include a Local Authority Head of MH Commissioning, Director of Mental Health in two large NHS Trusts and a regional Commissioning Development post supporting effective mental health commissioning. For the last two years he has combined his current national role with his work for Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust. Maurice has particular interests in mental health and housing and has held a Non Executive Director role with a national Housing Association. He has also co-authored a recent policy publication by the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health on "Implementing Recovery-A Methodology for Organisational Change". Katy Davies - Programme Support Katy supports the administration for this programme and also the Promoting Wellbeing and Public mental health programme. Previously, Katy was the Deputy Manager for a well known High Street retail store. Margaret Oates - Information and Outcomes Lead Margaret was Project Manager for the NIMHE Outcomes Measures project. Margaret has also been involved in the NHS Service Mapping collection. Margaret worked as a Registered Mental Nurse for 10 years before specialising in Information Management. Andrew Bennett - Senior Project Manager Andrew, until recently was a PCT lead for Partnership and non-acute commissioning, with a particular interest in mental health. Having had broad previous NHS and social care experience, including acute, community and social care commissioning - As a social worker by profession who has also worked as an interim NHS Director of Commissioning, among a number of other roles. His work in the Mental Health Commissioning Programme (jointly with ADASS) focuses on two main areas: How to take and apply learning from best outcomes, and the most effective use of resources, for people realised through Local Authority and NHS/clinical commissioning. As well as work on efficiency, QIPP and pulling together development across the team of resources for mental health commissioning in the context on the changing landscape across the NHS and Local Government. Elizabeth Allen-National Medium Secure QIPP Programme Elizabeth joined the NMHDU team in October 2010 from the Department of Health where she worked as the national medium secure policy lead and deputy head of secure services policy. She has also worked a performance and policy lead for high security hospitals, at Strategic Health Authority level and as a director of operations in a Special Health Authority. Elizabeth's work will review how people access medium secure care, the criteria for and the effectiveness of admission and discharge, and the interfaces medium secure care has with other parts of the forensic pathway. It will re-design the pathway through medium secure care with an emphasis on the achievement of recovery and risk reduction outcomes, removing disincentives from the system and ensuring people are detained in the lowest level of security they need |
