"Driving quality and value through mental health commissioning"
The National Mental Health Commissioning Programme supports the development of innovation in mental health commissioning through collaboration, information exchange and partnerships with a number of national and local agencies.
With the election of the Coalition Government and publication of the NHS White Paper the Programme has refocussed its activity to support the development of the new commissioning landscape. The Programme has worked with the RCGP, the RCPsych, ADASS, the NHS Confederation and others to establish a robust national partnership to help to shape the future of Mental Health Commissioning. This partnership has now developed into a Joint Commissioning Board for Mental Health which is placing clinicians and service users at the heart of commissioning development.
In addition to supporting this national work the Programme is supporting a number of regionally-based initiatives which are addressing the future of Mental Health Commissioning at the local level.
