The content of the Implementing the Mental Health Act website* that was managed by NIMHE has been transferred to this site. Use the menu on the left to view all the programme work led by Malcolm King and Kathryn Pugh and the previously published resources
The bulk of the Mental Health Act 2007, amending the Mental Health Act 1983, came into effect 3 November 2008.
To co-incide with this, the Department of Health updated their key documents and added a Frequently Asked Questions section to their website.
NMHDU is tasked by the Department of Health to have a key role in:
- informing those involved in mental health care of the proposed changes and the impact they may have
- supporting implementation by service providers, directly and by signposting sources of information
- and providing opportunties to influence national policy
The pages contain information and resources to download to support the implementation. Pages will appear in the left hand side navigation menu as they come online.
