16:30 Introduction by Dr Michael Harris NESTA

16:35   Dr Su Maddock, the former director of the Whitehall Innovation Hub, now senior Fellow at the Institute of Innovation Research in Manchester Business School and Co-author with Sophy Hallam of Recovery Begins with Hope will introduce the report's findings and talk about why recovery is so significant to people's well-being, service re-design and how to take recovery to scale in mainstream mental health services.

17.00 Helen Hutchings, a service user and Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) will talk about her experience of mental distress and how the biggest barrier to recovery is the beliefs people have about mental illness.  She now runs her own"Open up Initiative" called ‘Tea and Talk' http://www.open-up.org.uk/.

17:15 Professor Geoff Shepherd, a champion of recovery for many years and  policy lead on recovery in the Centre for Mental Health will talk about how he and others have been commissioned by the National Mental Health Development Unit (NMHDU) to help services across the country become more recovery orientated in their organisation and practices. 

17:35 Professor Bob Grove PhD, Chief Executive of the Centre for Mental health has considerable experience of developing supported employment within the prison and criminal justice system and will speak on the transferability of   recovery principles in the criminal justice system.
